Production Process
How to create a thin surface with the best mechanical quality

Rolling

Cold rolling is performed by mills with the technology of four superimposed cylinders. The aluminium foil is then rolled in different passes, with an average thickness reduction of 50% at every single step.

The equipments are equipped with advanced control systems which verify both thickness and flatness of the foil. The same systems also monitor the variations of nominal reference values and automatically regulate the rolling mill operation parameters.

Slitting

This operation is operated by equipments which separate foils and re-wind the "doubled" thin foil in two or more coils.

All the slitting machines are equipped with systems able to process the ultrasonic welding for splices.

Continuous casting and foundry

Aluminium bricks are melted in an induction furnace. The absence of direct contact between flames and aluminium reduces oxides scaling and enhances the quality of the metal.

The liquid aluminium is then filtered, solidified and rolled through the cylinders of continuous casting. The result of this process is a coil with a 6 mm thickness.

The entire process is controlled by a stae of the art metallurgical laboratory.
